Snowy Whitewater 
Day Trip



​The trip takes place in one of the most remarkable regions of the Australian continent – scenic, dramatic and full of special wildlife and cultural places. Grades 1-3 pulsing white water rapids dispersed with contemplative calm pools to catch your breath and enjoy pristine surroundings.

Price: $220 per person

Minimum age: 10 yrs

Minimum numbers: We require a minimum of 6 people to run a trip

Maximum numbers: 20 people

Season: April - January

Grade: 1- 3, suits novice to experienced and children over 10 years

Transport: Due to COVID participants must drive themselves down to the start location.
Guides will meet you at the Cooma Visitors Centre at 7:30am , or Jindabyne Visitors Centre at 8:30am. You can then follow us for 1/2 an hour through countryside, before entering the Kosciuszko National Park, where the scenic alpine road drops steeply over 750 meters in elevation to the Snowy River starting point.

Experience: None necessary - Suitable for novices and advanced whitewater adventurers

Boats: On the river inflatable kayaks are group guided. Skilled guides show you how best to negotiate the rapids while maintaining a fun and safe environment in which you can enjoy the thrills. 

Itinerary:
Guides will meet you at the Cooma Visitors Centre at 7:30am , or Jindabyne Visitors Centre at 8:30am. You then drive for 1/2 an hour through countryside, before entering the Kosciuszko National Park, where the scenic alpine road drops steeply over 750 meters in elevation to the Snowy River. You will be given a comprehensive safety talk, before 2 hours of getting wet and wild in the rapids in an individual or twin inflatable kayak.  Lunch is served by the banks of the Snowy River, before another 2 hours of awesome paddling through the stunning Snowy, until you reach your final destination at Pinch confluence.  Relax with some afternoon snacks while your guide packs the gear, then enjoy the amazing mountains views as you are escorted back to your vehicle.

What to Bring
On the river: 
  • Sense of humour
  • Booties or sturdy shoes that can get wet (e.g. Dunlop Volleys)
  • Warmer weather:  swimmers, light shirt for sun protection and board shorts
  • Cooler weather: thermals/swimmers/underwear to wear under wetsuit - we will provide wetsuits   
  • Cap or floppy hat to wear under helmet
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Glasses strap if required
  • Personal medication if required
End of trip:  
  • Warm change of clothes, towel and a dry pair of shoes. 

Remember to pack light - If you don’t need it don’t bring it.

Snowy River Whitewater Overnight Trips


Staying overnight on the Snowy brings a new dimension to your whitewater trip. Paddle up to your riverside campsite and unwind in the open air as your guides prepare you a hearty meal. Have a yarn by the campfire before retiring to your tent, or stay up listening to the many sounds of the unique Snowy ecosystems.
